WORM Release New Single “Witchmoon – The Infernal Masquerade” Featuring Marty Friedman

2–3 minutes

WORM return with a grand and shadow‑drenched statement as they release their latest single, Witchmoon – The Infernal Masquerade, featuring legendary guitarist Marty Friedman. Serving as the climactic finale to their upcoming album Necropalace, the track draws together a vast spectrum of influences, weaving Black and Doom metal with 80s Heavy Metal, gothic atmosphere, neoclassical flourishes, baroque‑styled harpsichord, piano arpeggios and flashes of death metal. It stands as the ultimate summoning of the vampiric world that defines the album.

Across their evolution, the Floridian necromantic black doom conjurors have cultivated a sound that reaches into nearly every significant corner of extreme metal’s lineage. Their work channels the grandeur of 90s symphonic black metal and the emotional precision of 80s shred, all while expanding their own unmistakable identity. Since the acclaim surrounding Foreverglade, WORM have continued to ascend, refining a level of dramatic and immersive songwriting that few can rival. With Necropalace, their first release through Century Media, the band step confidently into a new era while carrying the ancient spirit of the genre forward. As the band describe it, they walk backwards into the future.

Necropalace exists in a realm entirely its own. It is a place of velvet textures and ornate gold, coated in the dust of forgotten centuries. It is a world where shadows shift at the edge of vision and solitude lingers like a curse. It is a world where physical wounds may close, yet the deeper ones remain untouched. The album embodies nightbound maleficence in its purest form, echoing like a star‑lit winter sky reflected in the Everglades’ darkest waters. It is a call to those who still feel ancient vampiric blood stirring within them, urging them toward a storm of fervent guitar sorcery and arcane power. The gates are open.

Witchmoon – The Infernal Masquerade follows the album’s lead singles Necropalace and Blackheart, both of which arrived with WORM’s first official music videos. “Outside of exhuming obscure symphonic black metal tapes from 1996, much inspiration for Worm comes from my obsession with 80s/90s horror,” explains Phantom Slaughter. To bring these visions to life, the band assembled a formidable creative team for their short film releases. Director Norman Cabrera (Danzig, Walking Dead, Fright Night II), Producer Maya Kay, and Colorist Alex Nicolaou (Drab Majesty), working with direction from Ted Nicolaou (TerrorVision, Subspecies), transformed WORM’s dark fantasy into a vivid cinematic reality.
