Virodh Announce New Album Harvest of Desolation, Out the 6th of March 2026 via Erymanthian Records

1–2 minutes

Erymanthian Records is pleased to announce the forthcoming release of Harvest of Desolation, the new full‑length album from Indian technical death metal outfit Virodh, arriving on the 6th of March 2026. Pre‑orders are now available.

From the opening moments, Harvest of Desolation makes its presence unmistakably felt. Virodh strike a balance between razor‑edged technicality and the grim, old‑school rot that clings to classic death metal riffing. The album moves with intent, blisteringly fast when required, crushingly heavy when it lands its blows, and threaded throughout with a dissonant tension that never quite lets the listener settle.

Originally founded in Assam as the solo project of guitarist and bassist Sourav Koer, Virodh has since expanded into a full line‑up featuring Pranaw Chhetri on drums, Rudra Sharma on vocals, and Arun Nataranjan on bass. Their varied musical backgrounds feed directly into the album’s pacing, atmosphere and thematic weight.

Across eight tracks, the band explore themes of societal unrest, de‑establishment and the machinery of decay. “Initiation” sets the tone before “Swept in Dismay” tears straight through it. “Dissolution of Karma” twists itself into more labyrinthine technical territory, while “Kafkaesque” brings the blunt force back to the forefront. “Great Depression” confronts bureaucratic rot and financial collapse, and closer “Whispers in the Void” ends the record with a final descent into darkness.

Harvest of Desolation is an album built to be played loud, uncompromising, unvarnished and wholly uninterested in softening its edges.
